Romans 12:18-19- If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." Some synonyms of vengeance are; revenge, reprisal, and retributive justice. Retributive Justice- A system of criminal JUSTICE based on the punishment of offenders rather than on rehabilitation. This world is full of protests that lead to riots, "peaceful things" that really lead to chaos, seeking justice, while doing things unjustly. I'm gonna say this and I want you to read it and take it in. We are not able to serve justice the way it needs to be served, because we are human, and our form of justice is flawed. Our definition of "right justice" is opinionated, varies, and is flawed. Vengeance/ justice is HIS, not yours, not anyone's. Look at what our world has come to! People disrespecting police, the same people who protect, and HELP us. People are being hypocritical, making stereotypes, and demanding and trying to serve justice on their own. Justice is HIS. Vengeance is HIS. People saying they want justice has turned, for some, to seeking revenge, to rioting, to breaking buildings, stealing from stores, to fires, to hurting officers, to people dying. This is what happens when sinful, flawed people try and serve justice themselves, and when we try to control what we can't, and fix things the way we think it should be done. We are sinful. We are flawed. God wants justice, so it is good for us to want justice, but as Romans says, it is His. And shouldn't we want His perfect justice? Not a flawed, broken, and wrong justice? He has a just justice. We have a just whatever you think justice. A justice that is based on what your OPINION of justice is. Sure, there is a morally right, and morally wrong. But we are not good at determining what everyone's punishment should be. "Defund the police??" Oh yes, the same ones who God put into those positions, the same ones who have saved SO many lives, the same ones who are being dragged around, and disrespected. Is that really just justice? No. Punish everyone because of one person? You know God loves justice, but He also is merciful, and loves mercy and grace. The perfect balance of it all. If He was only a God of justice and making everyone pay for their punishments, you and I would not be here right now, why? Because we are all consumed by sin and it is there corrupting us all, we do not deserve life, but death. Would you consider justice nailing someone to the cross for being perfect? I think not. But someone had to pay for what WE did and do. So, He did. That is grace, mercy, justice, and love. He has a plan and I encourage you to rest in that and rest in knowing that justice and vengeance is His. You don't need to stress about it, but rest in knowing He has everything in His Hands and a plan for everything. Being just is "guided by truth, reason, justice, and fariness."-dictionary.com. Right now, this is not just, it is all guided by emotions, anger, and opinion.

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. James 1:19

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with malice. -Ephesians 4:31

Good sense makes one slow to anger and it is His glory to overlook an offense. Proverbs 19:11

Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. Ps. 37:8

A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back. Proverbs 29:11

We are allowing anger and every other emotion determine our actions, instead of holding back, and listening, instead of asking God what to do, for the words to say, to not allow us to be overcome by emotions.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10.

People are stealing, people are killing, people are destroying. The Devil is active. But so is the Lord. The thief in this verse is the Devil. And all of that is what he is doing right now. Make time for the Lord, dig into His Word, guard yourselves, because the Enemy is lingering, waiting for you to let your guard down.

This world is dying to know who You are

You've shown us the way to Your Heart

So, Father I pray, make me more like Jesus

More Like Jesus by Passion

This world desperately needs Him and we need to allow His Light to shine through us and out to the world. It's a dark place that needs a lot of Light. Cowering in fear isn't going to help. Share Him and His story, it's a world changer. In a world drowned by sin, bring the Lifeguard who saves the sinners. You have Him, share Him.
