Unchangeable Power

God is powerful. Seems like a simple statement, but do we believe that truth constantly? I think we would say: "well, yeah." What about when your circumstances change? When circumstances change, especially in a negative way, we like to think that His power diminishes (whether it's a subconscious or conscious thought). As circumstances change, we like to believe that He is not as powerful. But hear this, you have no power over His power. Nothing has any power over His power. Just because something bad happens does not mean God is powerless or His power has diminished. In fact, I think if we keep our eyes on Him, even in the hard times, we will see even MORE of His power, not less. When we believe His power has lessened, we are trying to take circumstances into our own hands. We think we could do better. When we begin to think His power has diminished is the same time we have stopped fixing our eyes on Him. If we stop looking to Him, we lose sight of Him, and instead fix our eyes on our surroundings. Imagine you're in the middle of the ocean, trying to get back to shore. If you keep your eyes fixed on the shore, you'll stay more calm, it's a safe place. But the second you take your eyes off of the shore and find yourself surrounded by big waves, you focus on the waves, not the shore. Similarly, when waves are crashing all around us in life and we take our eyes off of our Rock, we begin to worry, doubt, and drown. How did Lucifer become the Devil? What made him fall? He wanted to be God. If he can get us to believe that God's power has diminished, he will get us to believe that we can do a better job. Therefore, he will get us to try to step in as God to take over and be His power. We live in a power hungry world. But do not try to take or replace God's power, that is one power you do not ever want to mess with. His power is the mightiest of all and you will: break without it, tremble when you're against it, and fall to your knees in awe when you feel it. His power is mighty. Neither you, nor anyone or anything can replace or even come close to replacing His power. His power includes: wrath and justice, love and mercy, creation and destruction, control and peace, and many more. It cannot be changed, it cannot be replaced, and it cannot be ignored. Remember, you don't have power over His, and neither does the devil or anything else of this world. Your circumstances do not make God fear. Even when it doesn't seem like it, He has power over each one of them too. Don't allow the devil to make you think that you could do better, you couldn't. His power is the same as it was in the old testament all the way to now. It has not changed. He is the same, all around, including His power, which is immesurable.
