There are twenty-four hours in a day, within those twenty-four hours we fill up our schedules. We try and be busy and active. Some and most people have school and work, which consumes most of their days. But, then we add more to our days, I mean we have to make time for friends and family, right? All these things are good things, but if we fill our schedule too much, we tend to forget to make time for God. Finding time and making time are two different things. Finding time is just when it fits and when it seems like a good time. On the other hand, making time is when you purposefully set aside time and you push everything else to the side for something or someone. We want to make time for God. Look for the time that you are least active that you can sit down for at least ten minutes and just dive into the Word, pray, and listen to what God might be speaking to you. Have you ever heard the saying "time flies by?" Yeah, me too! I have heard it frequently and it is so true! Time goes by so fast and sometimes you don't even realize how fast it goes by. Live in the moment and live every moment for and with God. Ecclesiastes 3 says that there is a time for everything. If you are struggling with committing your time to the Lord or even if you're not, I encourage you to go read Ecclesiastes 3. It helps you realize that you need to live in the moment, that God has a time for everything, and it puts your view of time and how you manage it in a different perspective. Our time with God needs to be often and free of distraction, we need to unplug from the world, put our phones where they won't be a distraction, and dive into the Word. Make it a point daily to make time for God and push everything else to the side and spend time with Him, make everything else become inadequate, because without Him, everything is inadequate. You're either turned off to the world and turned on to God, or you're turned on to the world and turned off to God. You see so many people try and go to church on Sundays and say that's sufficient for the week and they dont spend any more time with God until the next Sunday at church. In order for any relationship to work, a few things it needs is: communication, pursuance, commitment, and trust. With God these things are so important to have. We need to communicate with God everyday. You need to unplug from the world for a little bit every day and plug into God and His Word in the time you're unplugged from the world. Because if you don't, you start to fall into believing 2 things
Who the world says you are
What the world tells you to do(which usually results in you becoming self centered instead of Christ centered)
You see by just going to church on Sundays and not communicating with God through the entire week, everyday, and not unplugging from the world, then the negative impact of the world begins to overcome us and we begin to feel sad, lonely, angry, turned off, and afraid. But some of us hide it all because you don't want to admit that without God you're powerless and that you need Him. Admitting you're wrong is hard. Admitting you can't do it is hard. Admitting you're weak is hard. But Gods Power is made perfect in our weakness. So, listen. Make time for God, EVERYDAY. I would say a minimum of ten minutes of just being unplugged completely from the world, set your phone aside and read the Bible, pray and communicate with God, listen to what He wants to tell you. In this world, this dark and negative world, we need to unplug from it all and refamiliarize ourselves with our purpose, our mission, and our calling. Refamilarize ourselves with what God is telling us about ourselves and what He is telling us to do.
You see without God we are completely confused and lost, we NEED to MAKE time for Him everyday.
