The Forgotten Impacts

There are so many things that we've heard so many times that it's kind of like we've become numb to it. Ya know that one Bible story you've heard over and over again. Or what about when someone says "God is with you?" His Name, Immanuel, God with us. Ever thought about how much impact that may have lost, how lightly we may take it sometimes? The One who created the universe, the stars, the planets, the people, you, everything, He is with you, while He's also holding the entire universe together, He's with you. He doesn't need to be, He wants to be, but He is also omnipresent. If He wasn't with us all the time, He wouldn't be omnipresent. Either way He desires to be with us, to guide us every. step. of. the. way. That's the coolest thing. He doesn't only come when things are hard, but when things are good too. He is ALWAYS with us. Leading us and guiding us. When things are good, we tend to forget He's there. We tend to forget that things are good because He is there, because He is here with you, right now. Good doesn't always mean easy and even though He is with us, that doesn't mean easy either. But it means we have a constant, an anchor, and a stronghold. Joy even in sorrow. When and as He is with us, the way we live is different. Didn't you forget? Forget about the impact of the phrase "God is with you" or "Immanuel, God with us?" I know you forgot, that's ok. It is something that is so great to remind ourselves. But look for and find the things and phrases or Bible stories that the impact doesn't phase you anymore. Sit in silence and think, even for just 5 minutes about how powerful that sentence, phrase, Bible story, or maybe it's even just a word. Remember the impact. Soak in the impact. Soak it in by resting in it, reconsidering it, and remembering it. And also REMAIN in the remembrance of that impact. Don't remember it and then forget it. Go back every so often and continually remind yourself of how powerful and great those statements, stories, phrases, or words are, because remembering those remind us of how powerful and great and mighty and everything that He is.
