Submission. To be in a place of submission means to be in a place where you are submitting, or are releasing something into someone else's will, surrendering. I think we all slip out of being in a place of submission with God, we desire control, we try and gain control, and we lose submission. I never really realized how IMPORTANT this place of submission is, until God revealed to me more about it, and showed me how beautiful it is! Have you ever been in a place where all these other doors were open, but one was closed, and you only wanted to go through the closed door? I know I have and I didn't want to admit or accept that the door I wanted to go through was closed. I told myself it was still an option, I could do it myself, for this situation I told myself and my parents I would wake up at 6 am to do it, but in this situation, we had to do what was best for our family, not what was best for me. And this situation was a family thing, I asked if I could go by myself, when I asked, I already knew the answer, it was no, but I wanted it to be yes, because I wanted that closed to door to just be open. It was a change, a change I thought I could stop, or change. I thought I could change the change. Have you ever thought you could stop or change the change? Last year, in 2019, God pushed me into a place of being uncomfortable. He forced me into situations of change, but with these changes, there were no second options, no changing the change, it was what it was. He showed me that when He is in control, we cannot change the changes that are part of His plan. Even if we do not give Him control, and we try and take control, things still will NOT go our way, His way, His plan for us will unravel. This past year and this new year, as it unravels, I have come to a place of submission, and have realized the importance of being at that place. We pound on locked, closed doors, and run from the open doors. We ask Him to guide us, He does, but we don't like it, so we try and go our own way. There comes to a point when you realize that you need to stop. You need to surrender, and you need to submit. Don't think He is going to force you into a place of submission, He won't, but it is a CHOICE that you need to make. Being in that place of submission you see things and go through life differently, you grow. You grow deeper in your faith and in your relationship with Him. You see difficult things, instead of seeing it as a huge issue, you see it as a tiny issue, because your faith, your hope, your anchor is in your great, big, magnificent God. Being in submission, you lay it all at His Feet, fall on your knees in surrender, and walk away releasing yourself of what you were carrying by yourself, and letting go of it completely, leaving it in His Hands. You were never meant to carry anything or go through anything by yourself, you were created to be in step with Him, to follow Him, and to allow Him to carry it all for you. It may seem heavy, but it's because you're carrying it! It is light when it is in God's Hands, it's off of your shoulders, and on His, and He has the ability to carry it. Your Father has you, Child. Submit, rest, release. Submission is difficult to get into and difficult to stay in, but oh is it worth it. Everything in this world is trying to pull you out of that place of submission, but stand firm, don't lose your place of submission, it is a key to faith, trust, and growth.
