Your plans are still to prosper, You have not forgotten us.

- Sovereign Over Us by Michael W. Smith.

Seniors not getting the official graduation at the time expected or maybe at all. College students switching to online and moving back home. Employees getting unemployed or not getting as many hours a usual. Families struggling to pay for their meals. Nurses and doctors working long hours at hospitals. And grocery stores looking like they got robbed of literally everything, am I right? This is a difficult time, but we all have difficult times individually as well. The lyrics I wrote above is from a song we sang on Sunday morning over live stream. This song hearing it almost brought me to tears. To think that with everything going on... His plans are still to prosper, it's not like this shocked God like it did everyone else. He did not cause the sicknesses, our sins allowed sickness to enter into the world, but God allows the difficulties to enter into our lives for many reasons, one out of the thousand, could be to teach you a lesson. But no matter what you're going through, His plans... are still to prosper. They may not make sense or be ideal, but they will prosper, and they don't need to make sense to you, they make sense to Him. That's something I think is difficult to swallow. But it's true. And He has NOT forgotten us, forgotten you. At times when things are difficult we feel forgotten about and alone. We wonder if our existence is even remembered because of all these things happening to us. We are in a battle, so fight from His victory, and be prepared to fight attacks of the enemy. every. day. Whatever your circumstance, it is not forgotten, and neither are you. He sees you and knows you and has done everything, but forgotten you. He has a plan for you, even if you don't see it, even when you don't feel it, He's working for you and His glory. Amongst all the whys, all the complaints, all the grief, all the joy, all the pain, all of it, our gracious, gracious, gracious God's plans will still prosper and He has not forgotten you. Forget you? The one made out of dust, created in His own image, loved unconditionally, His Child, the one who is His most prized possession? Nope. Not a chance. I've been singing that line over my life recently. "Your plans are still to prosper, You have not forgotten us." He is working and sometimes it feels as though He isn't, it feels like He's so far away, and it feels like we've turned to an "I'll deal with you when I have time" kind of case. He always has time for you, but do you always have time for Him? He's there, but are you, or have you run? I know it's hard, difficulties happen, and then we struggle to cling to God at times because we ask WHY? We want to understand, we want a reason, because we feel entitled. We are an entitled feeling people and that can be an issue. I encourage you to listen to this full song, listening to the words intently, not just as background music. And I encourage you to see where you may be delaying God's plans to prosper by holding on to things or trying to control things. And see where you may feel forgotten about and sing this over those situations. Later in the song it says, "You are with us in the fire and the flood, faithful forever, perfect in love. You are sovereign over us." ITS ALL SO GOOD! He is with you, faithful, and perfect in LOVE. He is sovereign over us, over you, over every situation. He is Lord of all, King of Kings, powerful, and over it all.
