Peace is a Choice

Peace, it is something we all desire, something we all seek. We all seek peace, but are we looking for peace in the right places? The only peace that will completely and always satisfy is His. He gives peace, not as the world does. I love the thought of that, but something that I've realized is that we CHOOSE peace, we don't magically gain it. Yes, He gives peace, but it is our choice to choose His peace. We have the choice of seeking worldly things or seeking Him, trusting Him, and resting in Him. The choices we have are complete opposites, it's either stress and chaos or peace and rest. We can choose to stress about things and not allow Him into our circumstances, or we can choose peace, to know that we don't know, and to be ok not knowing. He does not just hand us peace, but shows us that we need to choose it, it isn't easy, but it's so so worth it. His peace is special and different. It satisfies when nothing else does, it brings rest when we have bags under our eyes from missing sleep. Peace is a choice, it is not easy to choose His peace sometimes, because the world is pulling us all different directions and screaming at us to go all these different places, but in the midst of all that, He is whispering to us, but we need to listen and choose to listen to the whisper and allow His whisper to be screaming over the worlds screams.
