Nothing else, I just want you. -Cody Carnes (nothing else) I stood in church singing and listening to these words and I was smiling knowing how much I just wanted Jesus!! That He is all that satisfies. And that was and is all I needed. Him. But as I continued to sing these words, it was gently revealed to me that, I wasn't satisfied with only Him, I haven't been satisfied with just Him. I look back and realize in the past few days I've said "if this happens... Then I'll be satisfied... If I get this score on the SAT... Then I'll be satisfied" as if those things are all that matter, as if those things define me, as if Christ doesn't already satisfy FOREVER, and as if those things don't happen then life is meaningless... What a joy those are lies. That the only thing that TRULY satisfies, that TRULY matters is Christ, and Christ alone. If we look for satisfaction from the world, we will continuously find ourselves lacking, lacking in joy, lacking in peace, lacking satisfaction. The world sells emptiness, not satisfaction. The world doesn't give, it takes, and it takes all you allow it to. The only thing that satisfies is Him and until you realize and implement that into your DAILY life, you will feel empty, and you will feel lost, and you will feel like you're not enough. We need to get to the point that we are taking every thought captive, especially when it comes to finding satisfaction anywhere other than Christ. What are you putting before Him? What/who are you seeking satisfaction from other than Him? And don't just automatically think that the answer is nothing, that you're already perfect at finding satisfaction in Him, because we will always be tempted to put things above Him and it is a daily battle to put him first. Really think about it, think what are you putting before Christ, or what are you seeking satisfaction from other than Christ? I know I fell into the trap of thinking that I was good at seeking only satisfaction from Him, until I really looked, then I saw that I have to always be alert and aware of the things that are trying to take my attention off of Christ because it can be even good things that are trying to get more of my attention and turn me more away from Christ. He is the only true satisfier, nothing and no one in this world will ever satisfy, if we continue to seek for the world to satisfy, we will find ourselves continuing to seek and wander. But when we seek Christ for satisfaction, we will instantly be satisfied, but that isn't to say that the world won't come knocking on your door again pleading with you to try and be satisfied with it again, to try and divert your attention from who really matters.
