No Fear

With more reasons to sing than to fear -Whole Heart (Hold Me Now) by Hillsong United

What a powerful statement in the situation we are living in today!! We need to stop fearing and begin trusting. 2 Timothy 1:7 says "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self control." Fear is not from God, it literally says He has not given us the spirit of fear. He does give us common sense on when to fight and when to flee. Fear is not from Him because everything is in His Hands, so no matter what we go through, fear should not be a feeling we experience, because of the trust we have in Him. As you look around right now, fear is evident. But we are called not to fear but Hebrews 3:1 says to "Therefore holy brothers and sisters, who share in heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus..." Not called to fear or worry (Matthew 6:33-34) but rather to fix our thoughts and minds on Jesus! Have you been worried? Overwhelmed with fear? Feeling lonely? Upset? Confused? Whatever it may be whether it is fear or something else... FIX. YOUR. MIND. ON JESUS. And experience His peace! In John 16:33, Jesus says... "I have said these things to you that in me you MAY have peace. In this world you WILL have tribulations; But take heart, I have overcome the world." You see peace is a choice, He offers it, but will we accept it? What we see here is peace is a choice and tribulations are promised, it says you WILL have tribulations. But look, it says He has overcome the world. And at the beginning of that it says "But take heart..." He is comforting His Child, listen, hey it's ok, I got it is what He's saying. He has overcome whatever you may be going through whether it is fear or a different struggle. He knows. The lyrics I posted above are so powerful to me, because so many times in the Bible does it mention to sing to Him or praise Him and the only thing it tells us to fear is God Himself. So, that I might stand with more reasons to sing than to fear. Imagining someone standing I think of brave and strong, and for them to have more reasons to sing, rejoice, praise, than to allow fear to overwhelm them, what an image! I hope I grow in that way. And wouldn't cower in fear, but stand and sing!
