I started school this past week. In one of my classes we were challenged with the task of defining art. As we were discussing our ideas of art, one classmate proudly stated that "nature isn't art." I was absolutely floored. How could you not look all around you and not see that it is art? I wrestled with this statement all day, trying to see their point of view. I didn't. But I did take a step back and realize if they don't believe the world was created, if there is no Artist, how could all of this be art? As I came to this realization, my heart broke. Not only are they not giving God credit where it is due and insulting Him, but they are also missing out on all the beauty, comfort, and awe that comes with the truth. God is an Artist, the Artist. I encourage you to never take for granted the fact that you get to see God's art on display, everyday, because some people don't see that. What a dull world. I feel like if you don't see God as the Artist, the whole world is painted in gray. Without Him, there's no life, no beauty, there's nothing. Still I wonder, how, how could you not look at the bursting colors of the sunset, the flowers growing, the trees towering, and not see art?

"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever- the Spirit of truth. The world CANNOT accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." -John 14:17-18

We have the Spirit of truth in us, therefore, we have discernment. We can see truth and know it, because He is truth. But it says the world CANNOT accept him. Not that they won't, but that they can't. They don't have the Spirit within them. They are blind to truth and don't know it, because they do not have the Spirit. We have something the world doesn't, share it. Share it, even if they deny it, even if they try to argue it. Truth is not subjective, it is objective. It doesn't matter what they say, feel, or think. What is true, stands true, despite the urgency of the lies of the flesh. Be aware of the world you live in. Jesus says in John 14, it cannot accept the Spirit of truth, and does not see Him or know Him. They are blind to the Truth. I think this is why, at times, when the Truth makes sense to you and you're trying to share with your friend/colleague/family member and point them to Him. They don't get it, no matter how obvious it seems. It's like telling a blind person that the sky is blue, but they insist it is green. They can't see it, they don't know the truth. We must be prepared to defend the Truth, because they will argue it. To them, lies are truth. The world will try to shake the truth down, making it seem false, it will try to make their lies they believe look so close to the truth. But use the Advocate that He has sent us. Discern. Know truth, well. It's important to read scripture so that we can know the truth well. Even the devil knows scripture, but, we must know it so well, we can catch the lies the enemy hides behind the truth.

"In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." -2 Corinthians 4:4

"He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn- and I would heal them." -John 12:40

"They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen." -Romans 1:25
