Embrace of Acceptance

Recently a lot of change has been happening in my life. I'm sure you can relate to a time when things in your life were changing, or maybe that time of change is happening for you now. Change is difficult and I think it always will be for us. The lack of things being in our control is scary and difficult. In seasons of change I think they can be so beautiful, if we allow it to. If we allow God to take complete control and let His plan unravel, it's so amazing to watch. Do you just take the change as it comes? Do you show others that you're not phased by it, but internally are? I think change affects us even if we act like we aren't phased by it or even if we really don't want it to affect us, it does. In my season of change I have learned to recognize and embrace the change. It reminds me of a popular story, the prodigal son.
And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. Luke 15:20
He embraced his son even after he ran, even after he changed his life, and even after he wronged him. It was a hug of acceptance. Now, the father still loved his son. Embracing the change does not mean loving it, but accepting it, and trusting that God knows His plan. Knowing that even though things are changing, our God is unchanging. Knowing that I cannot change the change, that it is out of my control, and knowing it is in His. That is embracing it. It's hard, it is easier said than done, I wish it was easy to do, but it's not. Change challenges us, and it is our job to accept it and allow it. To allow God to do what He wants, what's best for us.
