Communication. It is something we do daily. It is something we've done since we were born. If we needed a diaper change, if we were hungry, we communicated those types of things by crying. Now, we talk, we make motions, we text, we call, we have conversations, there's also social media as a way we use to communicate. When you communicate with someone, what do you do? Listen or speak? You may be saying both, you should be saying both, because without one, the communication is lacking its full potential. To communicate, you need to not only speak, but also listen, and vice versa. There is worldly communication and spiritual communication. Worldly being, speaking, communicating with the things of this world. Spiritual communication is communicating with God. Are you as worried about your spiritual communication as you are with your worldly communication? We try so hard to keep our relationships with people on earth, which isn't bad, but are we focused on keeping our relationship with God too? Obviously you communicate with people in this world and in order to do that, we need to listen and speak, though we may be better at one than the other, we still do both. Sometimes with God we just speak to Him and forget to listen. It is hard sometimes because we can't see Him. We also selfishly act as if we get all we want with God, so we ask, and expect. This is not the case and God never wants that to be the case. He wants us to speak and listen to His answer, because it's not always yes . Communication is NOT always asking or always speaking, but asking or speaking, as well as seeking an answer and listening. Communication requires listening, Communication requires speaking. When we don't speak to God, even though He already knows what we will say, without us speaking our desires, our relationship stays stagnant. When we don't listen to God, we put ourselves in the center of life, and go and do what we want because we aren't seeking or trying to listen to Him. When we speak to God it helps us process the things we desire, but also helps our trust and relationship with God grow, and helps you and God be on the same page (really so that you're on the same page with God), that He is in control. When you recognize that He is in control of your life, of everything, you tend to communicate better with Him, you tend to listen better because you understand that since it is OUT of your control, you need to communicate, but even when you feel things are IN your control, you still need to communicate, fully, and recognize it is out of your control. Listen and speak. Intently listen. Fully speak. Communication requires both and you need to make sure you're doing both, especially with God. Without one, it is not communication. With God we tend to make them separate, but God wants them to work hand in hand, and for us to use them that way. So talk to Him, communicate with Him fully.
