In life we try and understand everything that happens and try to control everything that happens. In life, we plan for things to happen and when they don't, we are confused and often disappointed. We view change as scary when it comes to messing with our plans we thought we had. We plan ahead, think of all these things to do, and add to our schedule, and it comes to the point to where we come to the next day and go "alright, today I have to do this and this." We fill our schedules, our months, and days with so much stuff that WE plan for. Though you have your own plan, God has a plan for you too. You may think that you know what is best for you, but God knows best, and you need to trust that. Our lives and everything around us change constantly. I mean, think about, the weather changes all the time, the time changes every second, our favorite colors change, our favorite animals change, everything changes. But, when things that we plan for change, we tend to freak out, get upset, and get stressed. Why? Because we had a way in our mind how everything was supposed to play out, and when it does not play out that way, it causes discomfort, disappointment, and stress. Change in our plans can be so beautiful and good! God has a plan for us, one that is so much better for us than we could ever have imagined! We try and understand it all, understand God's plan and what He is doing, understand why things did not go the way we thought it would, we try and understand how it is all going to come together, and how in our struggles God is going to use it for good. We can never understand in the moment, and even afterwards, more often than not we have no clue what God is doing, why He made our plans happen that way, or why we went through the things we went through. God does not bring you to anything He cannot empower you to do. You need to trust His plan and trust His guidance. Don't trust your own plan or think you have control over time and over every situation, you do not. But... God does! Trust Him. Trusting yourself leads to stress and being overwhelmed, but trust in God leads to peace and growth in your relationship with Him. You see we fear the changes that are directly about our life, we don't fear when the weather changes, but when our lives change, that's a different story. We like to ask why, I mean when your parents ask you to do something, the following question is usually "why?" Something that I know and absolutely love to be reminded of is: "God knows all the answers to my whys." I try not to ask God "why" as much anymore, and instead just trust and say "Okay God, I trust you and it is yours." Especially with all the changes in my life that happen, especially with friends, I always want to know what God is doing and ask 'why.' But, God knows the unknown and He understand what you don't. Trust Him through the changes and struggles. Everything happens for a reason and God has a reason for it all. You need to insist on His way and not your own. Sometimes change may not be what we want, but sometimes change can be exactly what we need. When things change be patient and trust God. Don't think that your plans changed and now you have no idea what to do, let God put you where He wants you, and use you in the ways He wants to with the plans He has for you. God already knows all the changes that will happen in your life. Do not fear changes, but embrace them as new opportunities, and as opportunities for God to use you in ways you could never imagine. When everything else is changing...
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8.
Find peace in that.
