Unwavering Love

Recently, I have been so so amazed and floored by love. Not just any love, but His love. I've recently been enjoying using the word unwavering to describe His love. It is constant, He is constant. And that's something we definitely need to be reminded of, as we go through life, everything is constantly changing, constantly inconstant, and we just need something to be constant! Something that we know will stay the same, and that is Him, rest in that. The thing that just leaves me in awe the most right now, is that no matter what a failure I am, no matter what mistakes I make, He loves me. But the thing is, is that on the days where I'm constantly failing, constantly making mistakes, you know those days that are just so bad, the days we all have, those days where you're not doing so great at doing good, it's just a bad day, yes He still loves me, but He loves me the EXACT SAME as He did on my absolute best day! He loves you the exact same on your worst day as He does on your best. Unwavering. Nothing changes it. I think that's so hard for us to understand, to comprehend, especially in our world today. First of all, everything around us, everything in our lives are constantly changing, so to think of something that is truthfully, and fully constant is so crazy to us. Second, we are loved with human love, and His love, they are both very different, but sometimes we like to make them seem pretty similar, because a love greater than someone in your life that loves you the most, is wild to think about. Lastly, in this world we are shown that failures are weakness, that people love you less for them, and that weaknesses need to be hidden, not embraced. That's where God contradicts, in all of that. Him and His love are constant, always. His love is SO different than human love, it is unwavering, whereas human love does have the ability to waver, and His love is greater. You, this world, and everything else can never change His love or even the amount of it you receive. Wow, did you just take a deep breath of relief? It doesn't change, it is unwavering, it is constant. He is different and so is His love, different in the best way possible, different from the world we are living in. I hope you really rest in that and that you can wrestle with it to gain a better understanding of His love. And I hope He just overwhelms you with His unwavering, constant, overflowing love. It's there, I promise if you're not feeling His love, that doesn't mean that it isn't there, or that He doesn't love you. He does. You don't need to feel it for it to be there, and whether you want Him to, or not, He loves you with that unwavering love. Don't be ashamed of your failures, don't allow that shame to block His love, it's ok, you won't be shunned because of what you've done, but rather, embraced, and welcomed, He wants you to come as you are. Come with your chains and stains. He accepts you as you are, but also LOVES you as you are! The Bible likes to use the word 'steadfast' for His love...
